The Results Show

Group dance – I liked most of the choreography and they did a good job with it. Shane Sparks usually comes up with some good routines.

Voting Results

Katee and Joshua – (Broadway) I liked them last night (even though I hated the music) and the judges went bonkers over them, and they’re safe, no surprise.

Kherington and Twitch (Viennese waltz) are safe, Chelsea and Thayne (jazz) are in the bottom three. Neither decision surprised me.

Chelsie and Mark, (Argentine tango) who I thought had no chemistry and were awkweard together are safe.

Matt and Kourtni (foxtrot) are safe, Jessica and Will (hip-hop) are safe. There is a slightly frightening group pile-on hug with microphones falling off of people and I think one person lost a shoe.

Susie and Marquis danced a salsa very badly. They are in the bottom three.

Courtney and Gev (contemporary) are safe. Chris and Comfort (krump) are in the bottom three, unsurprisingly.

Space filler performance

America’s number one Flamenco dancer, whose name I didn’t get:
This guy seems to just do tappity tap with his feet while doing “ta-daaaa” arm movements to show off his chest (unbuttoned vest).

Next is the highly humiliating “Snuggle Fabric Softener Happy Dance Competition” with random people on the street making fools of themselves. The girl with the puppy was cute. The old lady in the cane was cute. Other than that, it’s just filler and could be cut and I’d not miss it.

Solos – Dancing for their lives

Chelsea – it must be laundry day because she’s wearing a handkercheief as a shirt, and boy’s tighty whities on the bottom. Her dance is uninspired.

Thayne – his dance is expressive but seems too much time is spent running. There were some impressive leaps.

Susie – ouch: pink and black legwarmers. Looks like club dancing to me… nothing that would indicate any level of formal training or technique.

Marquis – some high leaps and a neat flippy thing, some pirouetes. It’s very acrobatic though some of his moves seem to be slightly off balance. I liked it though. It was better than Thayne.

Comfort – it’s a pretty standard hip-hop routine that doesn’t show much versatility in my mind.

Chris – seems like a lot of flailing around without much sense of direction, to me.

My pics to leave: Susie and Chris. I doubt I’m right, because the judges and I tend to look for different things.

Space filler to kill time for the judges to discuss

Band something like “Flow Rider” that I’ve never heard of. It sounds like every single other song in this genre to me which probably means I’m too dang old. Hey, get offa my lawn! Dunno… there are a few hip-hop or rap type songs that I think are fun but the vast majority just blend together and I zone out. The backup dancers look like lazy cheerleaders.

The judges aren’t back yet so we’re treated to another horrible preview for the movie “The Love Guru” which looks just awful.

Judging Results

Chelsea is told to “step up her game” and Comfort is told that her performance in the group number is what saved her.
Susie goes home (yay!) Everyone goes on about how hot she is but she looks like a skank to me. Sorry.

Thayne has a lot of potential, they say and Chris is told they felt he danced with passion
Marquis they thought he did tricks and not dance and he is going home.

So my guesses were Susie and Chris; actually going home is Susie and Marquis. So I was half right.
