Women get constipated more than men do*. We have the advantage, however, in that there are two simple ways to get past most mild constipation without taking any medication or anything.
One of the common causes of constipation or difficult bowel movements is related to the shape of the rectum. Just inside your body, the rectum has a little bulge. I think this is so that when you “gotta go” the pressure isn’t directly against the anal sphincter, but rather against the bottom of the rectum. An especially large or hard stool will push against this and make the angle to escape rather difficult. Sometimes even a regular stool can become lodged there (often something too small to effectively push with the…erm…regular muscles) and these methods will help for those cases, too. Here is a diagram:
| The blue area is the rectum, ending in the anus at the bottom. | |

The white arrow shows the normal route for going potty. | The white arrow demonstrates how the rectum is stretched at the bottom. You can see that it isn’t aligned with the Exit Door. The green arrow indicates the direction of pressure that can be applied to straighten things out. |
The trick, as hinted at in figure 2 is that as women we have two easy ways to apply the proper pressure.
