Review: A lot of hype for a major summer movie may be partially to blame for my disappointment in this film. I guess I expected more. There were too many glaring flaws which could have been simply avoided. “Gosh, a giant lizard is trying to eat my helicopter…maybe I should…FLY HIGHER???” No, this simple bit of logic doesn’t occur to the pilots. I am willing to suspend disbelief for a lot of things, but stupidity isn’t one of them. The effects weren’t as good as Jurassic Park, the plot seemed unpolished, and they did insult the audience’s intelligence a bit. I give the acting credit, but only in that they had to follow the script they were given. I think the script was the major flaw of this movie (both dialog and plot writing). Regardless of its flaws, it was still a fun movie to see.
