Contrary to popular belief, I do have hobbies besides the internet. This is where you can find out what the heck I’m doing with my time! (Aside from making web pages about what the heck I’m doing with my time…)

Juggling

• Juggling page — includes links to my juggling photo gallery and my gallery of juggling events.
• I also do some club swinging and poi swinging.
• Atlanta Jugglers Association — this is the website of the juggling club I belong to.
• International Jugglers’ Association — I attend their annual festival every summer. I also do volunteer work for them in the form of graphic design work such as magazine ads and t-shirt designs.

Art

• Photo Gallery — pretty much everything…drawing, painting, sculpture (mediums ranging from clay to sand to metal to cardboard to electrical leftovers…)
• Clothing design — some sketches and photos…

Theatre Makeup

• The Paper Airplane in the Forehead Trick — A ‘special effects’ makeup demo by me on myself. The effect is a sort of parody horror one: a paper airplane embedded in my forehead with blood and briuses.
• A page of many various makeup effects, all on my face. (I look especially good in the goatee.)

Dancing

• I love to go dancing. Often I go to goth nightclubs, especially Midnight in Washington, DC, though I don’t get to go very often now that I don’t live there anymore. I still make a point to go when I’m in town! Here are some photos I’ve taken at Midnight. I enjoy the goth dancing scene both for the music and dancing and for the wardrobe opportunities. One doesn’t get many opportunities to wear corsets and latex in day to day life!
• In Atlanta I go to ’80s Night at the Masquerade from time to time, though its Thursday night time slot is hard to manage when you’re a single parent.
• I have taken belly dancing classes. My boyfriend does a lot of dancing (salsa, swing, etc) and I want to take classes so that I can do those things with him.

Writing

• Poetry — these are virtually all at least 15 years old. I haven’t really been in a poetry writing “place” in my life lately. The poem ‘Only’ once won first place in the AZ Poetry Society’s Tucson-wide poetry contest…
• Stories — a few fictional short stories, plus the story of my son’s birth.

Travel

• Photo Gallery — albums for various trips that I’ve taken. I have traveled extensively inside the US, and have been to Europe and South America (the photos from my 2001 trip to the UK have mysteriously disappeared… I am still trying to restore those galleries)

Sports

• I play a mean game of ping pong when I have the opportunity.
• Snow skiing — I learned to ski when I was 11 at Taos, and would go skiing with my mother almost every year. I didn’t ski at all for about a dozen years, but started up again in 2006 and 2007.
• Water sports — I love the water. I like swimming, waterskiing, and kneeboarding when I get the chance.
• Cycling — I like bike riding a lot, and am starting to get more into it again since my boyfriend is an avid cycler.
• Rock climbing — I have only done this a couple of times, but I have my own harness thing and I want to do it some more!

Reading

• This is how I spend probably more of my “leisure hours” than any other way. When I have the time, I often go through several books in a week. When I’m busier, I may only read a book every week or two, but I always have at least one book going at all times.
• Book Reviews — I write book reviews from time to time, when I remember.

Cooking

• I love to cook, and frequently come up with my own recipes either wholly from scratch or by using elements from several other recipes and coming up with my own variation.
• Food — section of this site related to food. Articles, recipes, and whatever other food-related things I may come up with.
